What will the internet look like five years from now? Psychics aside, among the most qualified people to answer that question is Google CEO Eric Schmidt who must spend much of his days cogitating on just this question as he sets long term strategy for the web behemoth he heads. At last week’s Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Orlando he shared some of his views, and helpfully RedWriteWeb has excerpted a pithy six minute chunk that will be of interest to all of us who rely on the internet daily. Among his most interesting points:

Five years from now the internet will be dominated by Chinese-language content. Today’s teenagers are the model of how the web will work in five years - they jump from app to app seamlessly. Within five years distinctions between TV, radio and the web will go away.
