Costa Mesa City Worker Gets Laid Off, Jumps Off Building's Roof
COSTA MESA, Calif. -- A forensic pathologist has confirmed that a Costa Mesa city worker jumped rather than fell from the roof of City Hall in March.
Dr. Sean Enloe of the Orange County coroner's office conducted the autopsy on Huy Pham.
The Orange County Register says that Enloe concluded that Pham would have landed closer to the building if he had fallen or was pushed from the building.
A coroner's toxicology test found that Pham had cocaine in his blood when he died.
Pham jumped to his death on March 17, shortly after he was called in to receive a layoff notice, along with more than 200 other employees.
His death heightened the strain over a City Council's decision to outsource 18 city services to other government or private agencies.
