Private Investigator Sues Murdoch's Company

LONDON (AP) -- Rupert Murdoch's News International says it has been sued by a private investigator at the center of the phone-hacking scandal.
Glenn Mulcaire was jailed in 2007, along with a reporter at the now shuttered News of the World tabloid, for hacking into the voicemail messages of royal staff.
Last month, Murdoch's News Corp. stopped making legal payments to Mulcaire - a day after Murdoch told lawmakers in a special parliamentary committee hearing that he would try to find a way to stop the payments.
News International spokeswoman Daisy Dunlop confirmed Thursday Mulcaire filed suit against News Group newspaper. She declined to comment further.
A person familiar with the lawsuit said it alleged breach of contract with respect to Mulcaire's legal costs.
